Dallas Mavericks Receive Championship Rings

Thursday, January 26, 2012 |

When the Dallas Mavericks won the NBA title last season, owner Mark Cuban said that he was planning something new and foregoing the tradition of handing out rings.  We were expecting bedazzled trophies, belts, bracelets and even cars!.

Okay I was kidding with that last one!

Yet, out of all those expectations, Cuban stayed with the tradition and handed out a diamond-encrusted ring estimated to cost $40,000.

Wow!  That amount of cash for a ring?!  Maybe that is the reason that they sweat blood and tears the whole season so that when they retire and go bankrupt, they can auction it out.  I'm just sour because I want me one of those!

But whatever price the ring cost, it represents more than anyone could imagine.  It represents the hard work, sacrifice, dedication, challenges, a sense of accomplishment.  It's something you can tell your kids someday of a great team that beat the odds and made it through.  Something you can proudly wear around your finger all the time.  And more importantly, it stands for your LEGACY!  Which no one can take away from you.

Since we are talking about rings, checkout the Championship rings of the past decade.
